This website is fivestaredition.com (“Five Star Edition,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are a collectibles and special-editions review website based in Barcelona, Spain, serving readers primarily in the United States.

Visitors to this site can leave written reviews and a star rating on our product pages. When you leave a comment or review, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) is provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if associated with your email via Gravatar) and the username you provided are visible publicly alongside your comment.

All comments and reviews are moderated before publication. We do not allow visitors to upload images or files through the comment form.

If you request a password reset (administrators only; this site does not offer public user accounts), your IP address will be included in the reset email.

International Data Transfers

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment or review, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Contact form messages are retained for 1 year after our correspondence with you ends. Newsletter subscriber data (your email address) is retained for as long as you remain subscribed; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter email, at which point your email address is removed from our mailing list. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ default retention settings, which we have configured to 14 months.

Legal Basis for Processing

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data: consent, for optional cookies such as Analytics and Advertising cookies and for the newsletter; legitimate interest, for essential browsing data, affiliate click tracking, and spam or security detection on comments, since these activities are necessary to operate and protect the Site and do not override your rights and freedoms; and legitimate interest or contractual necessity, for responding to messages sent through our Contact form. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time as described below, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Your Rights Under GDPR

Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your personal information, to correct inaccurate personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, which may include advertising cookies. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

Depending on factors such as our size and the volume of data we process, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) may not legally apply to a small, individually-operated site like ours. As a matter of best practice, we nonetheless extend California residents the following options: the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to correct inaccurate personal information.

We do not sell personal information for money.
