Sideshow Pikachu Life-Size Figure Review: Is It Worth $525?

$ 525.00

Sideshow Pikachu Life-Size Figure review: size, price, tariffs and build compared with Eevee and Charizard, plus what collectors say before you buy.

Category:  |  Franchise:

The Sideshow Pikachu Life-Size Figure is a cheerful, simply painted polystone statue that costs more than its sculpt alone explains. I haven’t had one on my shelf, so this is a collector’s read of Sideshow’s pages and buyer posts, with guesses flagged.

Quick verdict: buy it for an officially licensed centerpiece, not for fine paint work or a bargain.

SizeAbout 18 in tall, 18.25 in wide, 10 in deep
EditionLimited to 1,600

  • Pros: official license, big presence, best price per inch of Sideshow’s three Pokémon pieces.
  • Cons: plain paint, tariff and import costs, few owner reviews.

What the Sideshow Pikachu Life-Size Figure includes

It opens Sideshow’s Pokémon statue line: a smiling Pikachu with red cheeks and a lightning-bolt tail on a grassy base. The box holds the statue and nothing else, according to Big Bad Toy Store, so card collectors from our Mega Charizard X Ultra-Premium review shouldn’t expect extras.

The run is 1,600 pieces with a limit of two per customer, double Eevee’s 800. Scarcity is real but not extreme.

How big is this life-size Pikachu really?

Pokédex data lists Pikachu at 0.4 m, about 15.75 in. Sideshow’s page says roughly 18 in tall, its 2025 announcement 18.5. Listings disagree by half an inch, so leave margin, as with our sixth-scale Palpatine.

So “life-size” is generous, and Sideshow doesn’t say whether the base counts. Think big desk statue, not 1:1 replica.

How the sculpt, paint and price add up

Gabriel Soares and Matias Cabrera sculpted it, Chie Izuma painted it. One Statue Forum member said the painters had little room for shading, so expect clean flat color, not weathering. For Pikachu, that works.

The shipping box is about 13 x 14.25 x 24 in at roughly 15.25 lb, so check your doorway first. Sideshow’s photos show a prototype, so final paint may differ.

Tariffs, shipping and what you will really pay

Sideshow listed $525 plus a $10.50 tariff impact fee (checked October 16, 2026). Shipping and taxes come later, and Sideshow says it doesn’t collect duty or VAT itself, which matters from Europe.

Payment plans start near $157.50 a month. Returns run 30 days, but photograph the unboxing anyway, as I would with Sideshow’s pricier Jubilee statue.

Is it worth $525 next to Sideshow’s Eevee and Charizard?

By listed height, Pikachu costs roughly $29 per inch, Eevee about $40 and Charizard around $34. On size for money, Pikachu wins, though it’s also the plainest sculpt.

FigurePriceHeightEdition
Pikachu$525~18 in1,600
Eevee$530~13.3 in800
Charizard$640~18.75 in850

If you own smaller figures, the jump is about presence. You’re paying for scale and the license, and Statue Forum members noted vinyl would have been cheaper. Similar money buys our animatronic Grogu.

What collectors on Reddit and forums are saying

Owner reviews are thin. The main thread I found is Sideshow x Pokemon Statues on Statue Forum, where some called $525 steep and others expected strong demand. Sideshow’s own r/LetYourGeekSideshow post carries the launch specs.

Commenters in an r/pokemon thread on a fan-built life-size Pikachu cite roughly $500 to $550 retail. My read: respect for the license, hesitation on price, and little hands-on feedback.

Our Take

What I like most is how unfussy it is: one happy Pikachu, one grassy base, done. It suits collectors who want a licensed centerpiece, Pokémon fans moving up from cards (our Prismatic Evolutions review covers that side) and anyone eyeing Sideshow’s Eevee or Charizard. Sold by Sideshow and Big Bad Toy Store. Tell us what you’d pay, or what you wish it had.
